The Ironman Lanzarote also known as Ironman Lanzarote Canarias, is an annual Ironman triathlon event (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km of cycling and 42.195 km of race), which takes place in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote in Spain .
The test was created in 1992 by the Club La Santa in the municipality of Tinajo, Lanzarote. In this edition 148 athletes participated, of which 116 finished the race.
In 1993, the test was moved to Puerto del Carmen, where the test is currently held.
The race is held at the end of May and is a good physical preparation for Hawaii, since for many triathletes, it is one of the toughest events in the world. One of the biggest sports competition held in Lanzarote in May and recognized as one of the most difficult in its world category. It attracts participants of all nationalities and a large influx of people from any corner of the world.
